Worked with

Problems we solve

Has your factory outgrown spreadsheets and Tally alone?

Small manufacturers often run on accounting software plus a stack of spreadsheets. It works until orders, products and people grow.

  1. 01

    Production planned on guesswork

Plans don't reflect real orders or material availability, so the shop floor waits on missing items.

  2. 02

    Stock that doesn't add up

Raw material, WIP and finished goods are counted by hand, and the books never match the store.

  3. 03

    Costing in the dark

Nobody knows the real cost of a product after material, labour, scrap and job work.

  4. 04

    ERP projects that stalled

A previous ERP was too complex, too generic or too expensive, and the team went back to Excel.

Our solution

An ERP sized for your factory, not for a multinational

We start small, with the modules that remove the most pain, and grow the system as your team adopts it.

  • Custom or Odoo, honestly chosen

If Odoo's manufacturing modules fit your process, we implement and customise them. If they don't, we build a custom ERP. We recommend what fits, not what we prefer.

  • Phased, not big-bang

Inventory and purchase first, then BOM and production, then dispatch and costing, each phase live before the next.

  • Simple for the shop floor

Mobile screens with barcode scanning for stores and production staff, so data is captured where work happens.

Manufacturing ERP modules

What a manufacturing ERP covers

These are the modules small and mid-sized manufacturers use most. Start with what you need.

01

Raw material to finished goods, by location.

  • Real product costs

Costing from actual consumption and scrap.

  • Faster purchasing

Shortages turned into purchase requests automatically.

  • Traceability

Batches traced from material to dispatch.

  • A system you own

Your data, your servers, no per-user licence to us.

Our approach

How we implement ERP for manufacturers

Open each step to see what it covers.

  1. 01.Plant walk-through

We follow material from receipt to dispatch and note every entry, approval and spreadsheet.

  2. 02.Fit check: custom or Odoo

We compare your process with Odoo's modules and recommend custom, Odoo, or a mix.

  3. 03.Phase one live

Usually inventory and purchase, configured or built, tested and used by the stores team.

  4. 04.BOM and production

Bills of materials, work orders and shop-floor entries added once stock is accurate.

  5. 05.Dispatch, quality and costing

Sales orders, dispatch, inspections and costing, linked to your accounting software.

  6. 06.Train and support

Role-based training and support as the plant adopts the system.

Common situations

Where small manufacturers usually start

Most manufacturing ERP projects begin with one of these problems.

  • Stock never matches

    What you notice
The system, the spreadsheet and the store all show different stock.
    How we fix it
Item codes, locations and transactions recorded in one system, with regular cycle counts.
  • Material shortages stop production

    What you notice
Purchases are planned from memory, and shortages are found on the shop floor.
    How we fix it
Purchase planning from bills of materials, orders and stock levels.
  • Nobody knows the real product cost

    What you notice
Prices are set from old estimates, and margins are unclear.
    How we fix it
Costing from BOMs, purchase prices, labour and overheads.
  • Order status needs a phone call

    What you notice
Sales asks production, production asks stores, and the customer waits.
    How we fix it
Order, production and dispatch status visible to everyone who needs it.

Guide

Choosing ERP for a small manufacturing business: a practical guide

When does a small manufacturer need an ERP?

Common signs are stock that never matches the books, production plans that ignore real orders, purchases made in a rush because shortages weren't seen, and costing that relies on guesses.

If more than one or two people spend their day reconciling spreadsheets, an ERP will usually pay for itself in time saved and mistakes avoided.

Which modules to start with

Start where accuracy matters most. For most manufacturers that is inventory and purchase, because every other module depends on accurate stock.

Once stock is reliable, add bills of materials and production planning, then quality, dispatch and costing.

Odoo or custom ERP for manufacturing?

Odoo includes manufacturing, inventory, purchase and quality modules that suit many standard processes, and can be customised. A custom ERP suits manufacturers with unusual workflows, heavy job work, specific costing rules or deep integrations.

A fit check against your real process is the only reliable way to decide. We do this before recommending either option.

Working alongside your accounting software

Many small manufacturers keep their existing accounting software for books and tax, and use the ERP for operations. The two are connected so sales, purchases and stock values flow across without double entry.

This keeps your accountant's workflow unchanged while operations move to the ERP.

Getting the shop floor to use it

Shop-floor adoption decides whether an ERP succeeds. Keep screens minimal, use barcode scanning instead of typing, and train each team on just their tasks.

Start with one department, fix friction quickly and expand once people trust the numbers.

Inventory accuracy comes first

Most ERP benefits depend on knowing what stock you have and where it is. Before rollout, agree item codes, units of measure, storage locations and how stock is counted. Clean opening stock is the foundation for everything else.

After launch, regular cycle counts on fast-moving and high-value items keep the system accurate without stopping the plant for a full stock-take.

Bills of materials and costing

A bill of materials lists the components and quantities that make each product. With accurate BOMs, the ERP can plan purchases, issue material to production and estimate product cost.

Start with your most important products, check BOMs with the people who actually make them, and update them when designs change. Costing is only as good as the BOMs and the time and overhead data behind it.

Quality, batches and traceability

Many manufacturers need to trace which raw material batch went into which finished goods, and which customer received them. Batch or serial tracking, incoming inspection and quality checks at key stages make this possible.

Traceability is especially useful when customers ask for certificates or when a quality issue needs to be investigated quickly.

Data migration without disruption

Migration usually includes items, BOMs, customers, suppliers, opening stock and open orders. Clean and de-duplicate them in spreadsheets before importing, and decide a clear cut-over date.

Running old and new processes side by side for a short period, with daily checks, helps teams build confidence before the old process is switched off.

What affects the cost of a manufacturing ERP

Costs depend on the modules needed, custom build or Odoo, number of users and locations, integrations with accounting and other systems, data migration, mobile and scanning needs, and ongoing support.

We don't publish fixed prices or packages. After a walk-through, we send a written proposal with phases and a customised quotation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best ERP for a small manufacturing business in India?

It depends on your process. Odoo suits many standard manufacturing processes; a custom ERP suits distinct workflows, job work or deep integrations. We recommend after a fit check against your real process.

Do you implement Odoo for manufacturing?

Yes. We implement and customise Odoo's manufacturing, inventory, purchase and quality modules. We are not an Odoo partner; we are an independent implementation team.

Can the ERP work with Tally or our current accounting software?

Yes, using the integration options your accounting software supports, so sales, purchases and stock values are not entered twice.

Can we start with just inventory?

Yes. Inventory and purchase are the most common first phase, because everything else depends on accurate stock.

Does the ERP support job work?

Yes. Job work sent out and received, with material reconciliation, can be tracked.

Can shop-floor staff use it on phones?

Yes. We build simple mobile screens with barcode scanning for stores and production entries.

Can you visit our plant?

Yes, for plants we can reach from Roorkee, including the Haridwar industrial area. Elsewhere we work through calls and video walk-throughs.

Can the ERP track batches and serial numbers?

Yes. Batch and serial tracking, with links from raw material to finished goods and customer, can be included.

Can it calculate product cost?

Yes, based on bills of materials, purchase prices and the labour and overhead data you maintain.

Will we need to stop production during rollout?

No. We plan migration and cut-over around your operations, with a short period of parallel running where useful.

How much does an ERP for a small manufacturer cost?

It depends on modules, custom or Odoo, users, integrations and data migration. We do not publish fixed prices; after a walk-through we send a customised quotation.
